KALEIDOSCOPE
By Teri Freesmeyer, Art Doula
I am a kaleidoscope.
I look out for my lens of perception in an ever-changing world.
Twists, turns, ins and outs.
Shape-shifting and colorful swirls of mystery and intention.
I hear my words, yet still, I am discovering that what I say changes the meaning.
I feel deeply, expressing in a muted picture as you quizzically attempt
to understand my abstract view.
You are a kaleidoscope.
I hear your views; some are distorted to me, and others are beautiful new options.
I see your world through a blur of dimensional shifts.
I feel your pain and your exuberance.
We are a kaleidoscope.
Ever changing yet constantly the same vessel.
We are filled with possibilities, limitless outcomes, and potential scenarios.
Yet, we tend only to use one viewing lens—the I.
The world is a kaleidoscope.
The unpacking of colors, shapes, images, and meaning in a treasure chest of diversity.
A unique collage in continuous motion of change.
The world is a kaleidoscope.
Shine the light on new perspectives and watch the beauty come alive.
Turn slightly in a new direction or perspective and unveil the unknown.
I am a kaleidoscope looking out myself at this kaleidoscope world.
I am again learning that the world's beauty
is inside me.
The body is a kaleidoscope.
In constant change and evolution.
Creating new mandalas of cellular exchange.
Light comes in through the center, through the moving parts
Weaving with the inward and the outward.
If you dare to be attentive.
The mind is a kaleidoscope.
In constant conversation with the yet-to-be-seen.
The hidden particles are waiting to burst through.
It has its turnkey managed by a slight shift.
Illuminating the next belief, viewpoint, and perception.
If you dare to take a look.
The emotions are a kaleidoscope.
They reside in the potential solution.
Creating abstract flowering bursts of color and depth.
And often bits of what-knots we have accumulated along the way.
Hanging on briefly as it sinks and emerges into its evolving form.
If you dare to feel.
I am the spirit of the kaleidoscope.
The world is my mirror, unusually captivating and in constant motion.
Rotating on its unseen axis, floating in the universal mystery, it is beautiful to see.
Multiple reflections of endless variation.
If you dare to trust.
I look through this tiny, chambered eyepiece.
Observing the arrangements of the objects tilted towards one another.
Seeking symmetry. Grasping and gasping in awe. Looking for the light source.
If you dare to be.
